ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY & CLASSICAL SWEDISH MASSAGE
Intensive Anatomy, Physiology and Swedish Massage Practioners Diploma Course. This course is held over two intensive days, with time in-between for home practise. No previous experience neccessary. A commitment to home study required.
Course description:
This course is designed to provide the candidate with the neccessary skills and underpinning knowledge to plan and effectively carry out Swedish Body Massage treatments through consultation, appropriate massage techniques and after care and home care advice. It is primarily intended for candidates who wish to work in the field of beauty /holistic therapy
Aims and objectives
On completion candidates will be able to :
1 Demonstrate consultation techniques, prior to massage treatments and form a treatment plan.
2 Demonstrate a range of practical massage techniques.
3 Evaluate the treatment session and provide aftercare advice

Explanation of journal keeping requirements
Terminology of classical massage movements and techniques
Relaxation techniques
Contraindications and benefits to massage
Introduction to massage mediums
Demonstration and practice of massage movements and techniques
Communication and interpersonal skills
Health and Safety and Hygiene
Codes of practise and codes of ethics
Client handling, client consultations, client records and client ethics
Case histories / studies
Supplementary information regarding specific conditions
Membership and organisations / certificates and diplomas Insurance. Moving on.
