CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, employers have a responsibility to provide safe and healthy workplace conditions as well as safe systems and methods for workplace activities. An essential element of any safe system is the knowledge and attitude of employees, and this demands proper training in the basics of health and safety, as well as specific training for individual tasks.

This course is independently accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Course Description:

A one day course designed for staff to recognise and understand the relationship between the working environment, the nature of work and the health and safety of the individual.

Course Summary:

Training providers have identified a growing need to make learning more relevant to specific business environments to increase effectiveness. New qualifications are required to address new National Occupational Standards reflecting sector specific needs.

• This training will be able to help you reduce lost working days, improve staff morale and improve staff retention
• At the end of the course participants will be able to understand:
• Health and safety requirements placed on employers and employees.
• Identify hazard and risk and the main causes of harm to workers. in the workplace
• Health, safety and welfare provisions in the workplace.
• The importance of following safe systems of work, procedures and rules.
• Hazards and controls in respect to both safety and occupational health risks.
• How their own actions can reduce risks to health and safety.
• Work in a safe and healthy manner
• Contribute to improving health and safety within your organisation

Length of the Course:
This course is run over one day and includes a final multiple choice examination.

Course certification:
On successful completion of the course and examination students will be awarded the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace certificate.
