HOLISTIC MASSAGE (Practitioners Diploma awarded)
HOLISTIC MASSAGE This intensive course in Holistic Massage offers the student the opportunity to gain recognition following fast track training.
To be able to offer Holistic Massage as a professional therapy to the fee paying public, the student must also hold a recognised certificate in anatomy and physiology. Students that have already taken a certified examination may start the Holistic Massage course at any time. Others are able to take the practical massage course either before, during, or after the anatomy and physiology theory examination.
The Holistic Massage training includes not only a full body routine based on the principles and practice of classical Swedish massage, but introductions to compatible massage modalities such as Shiatsu and Indian Head massage. Holism is discussed throughout this intense training course.The course content is varied and will include:
- Developing your intuition
- Introduction to 'Chi', breathing works, and techniques for relaxation and centering
- Introduction to Shiatsu
- Conducting a consultation
- Contraindications and benefits to massage
- Stress management
- Developing your confidence
- Developing your listening skills
- Client care and professional ethics
- Basic Health & Safety
- Setting up a professional practice
- Anatomy and physiology
- Holistic massage, techniques - demonstration and practice
- Indian Head massage, techniques - demonstration and practice
The Holistic Massage course may be taken over two weekends, with in between time for home study, home practice and case studies. A practical assessment, plus multiple choice questionnaire will complete the course on the final day.
